2001 December 19
To the Editor:
Did anti-nuclear activist David Martin really refer to reactor containment
buildings as "little more than tin boxes"? (December 19, 2001) This is
typical of the irrationality that has infected the world after 911, and
quite ironic since Martin's "tin boxes" are probably the most robust
buildings on this planet. Why is there no uproar about the myriad of
far-more-toxic materials stored on industrial sites and within our cities,
in containers that actually are "little more than tin boxes"? Martin is
harnessing 911 panic to further his agenda, and that is a form of
terrorism no less worthy of scrutiny.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Whitlock
